JAKALA recently attended DrupalCon Vienna, where we proudly sponsored and presented the Women in Drupal Award for the fourth year—and launched the event’s first-ever women’s networking lunch!
This initiative highlights women in tech and encourages more women to join the community. Together with the Drupal Association, we continue to champion this important initiative—highlighting female talent and raising awareness of the ongoing underrepresentation of women in tech. Kitt Ralkov, Managing Director of Experience, HR, and Marketing at JAKALA, spoke at the Women in Drupal Award once again and presented the awards together with last year's winners. Awards were given out in three categories: Build, Design and Scale.
Nominations fell into three categories:
- Define: Everyone who works on defining an innovative Drupal project, be it a strategist, a designer, a founder or any other changemaker.
- Build: Builders and makers have their place here, including developers, architects, or HR specialists recruiting talents to build an innovative Drupal agency. Community members who help create a thriving Drupal community can also be nominated.
- Scale: Everyone involved in scaling platforms or businesses could be a candidate for the Scale award. It's a category for developers as well as sales talents or consultants.

Women's Networking Lunch 2025
We're proud to be involved in initiatives highlighting women in tech and encouraging more women to join the industry. After engaging with women across the Drupal community beforehand, we learned that what they really wanted was a space to connect with like-minded people and discuss the topics that matter most to them. So this year we expanded the initiative and hosted the first-ever women's networking lunch at DrupalCon Vienna this year.
