The 23rd edition of Open Space brought together 150 people from Navarra’s tech and creative community to share knowledge and explore, from different perspectives, how technology is transforming the way we work, make decisions and relate to one another.
At JAKALA, we understand technology not only for what it is capable of doing, but also for the questions it raises. With this outlook, we celebrated the new edition of Open Space, an open and participatory gathering around technology, design, data and digital transformation.
This edition featured 17 sessions built with the participation of the community itself, with conversations about artificial intelligence, ethics, professional development, design, data and digital behavior.
The day kicked off with an icebreaker activity before moving on to the first sessions. Among them, Karlos G. Liberal addressed, in “Gaining certainty with language models”, how to work with AI while keeping your own judgment about what to delegate and how to verify its results.
There was also room to look at artificial intelligence from an ethical perspective. Ujué Agudo, a JAKALA researcher, used the trolley problem in her talk “Chati, do we save 5 by sacrificing 1?” to raise the question of how far we are willing to delegate decisions to automated systems and where human responsibility should continue to lie.
